DNERR Spring 2019 Training

It’s our favorite time of year here at the Reserve, it’s horseshoe crab spawning season! and to kick off the season, we must first train our volunteers.

Spring 2019 Dates

Fri, March 29 6 PM - 8 PM

Sat, April 6 10 AM -12 PM

Sat, April 6, 2 PM - 4 PM

Survey training is required to volunteer with DNERR on the three beaches we coordinate (Kitts Hummock, North Bowers, Ted Harvey).

All new volunteers are required to attend one of the three sessions and must be at least 13 years old to participate in the survey. Past participants are REQUIRED to attend a training session every three years! Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers will be asked to select their preferred dates through an online registration system after the trainings have ended so we can fairly distribute survey night and beach assignments. After you provide us with your preferred survey dates, we will contact you to let you know which ones we will need your help with. The online registration link will be made available after the trainings have ended.

Thank you for your interest in the Horseshoe Crab Spawning Survey! We truly appreciate the help of all of our volunteers who to take part in the survey each year - thank you for your all the time you dedicate and all the help you provide!

See you at the trainings!
